Scripture – The books of the Old and New Testament are inspired by God. They contain no error and are the authoritative Word of God. God’s Word is alive, exposing the hearts of mankind, able to make one wise unto salvation, and sweeter than honeycomb.

God – There exists only one God, the only Creator and Redeemer, the LORD is His name. He is worthy of all praise being excellent in all His ways—a God of compassion, grace, holiness, love, kindness, faithfulness, patience, forgiveness, and justice. He has revealed Himself as eternally existing in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit.

Man – All people, regardless of age, gender, social status, race, or ethnicity, have inherent dignity because they are created in God’s image. When Adam sinned the image of God was defaced but not lost. All people were condemned in Adam and are born slaves to Sin, and are themselves sinners. Thus, all people are subject to God’s righteous punishment, the penalty of eternal death, for their rebellion against a good and holy God.

Christ – The Messiah was sent by God in love to redeem sinners. Jesus Christ, fully man and fully God, the second person of the Trinity, lived the perfect life without any sin. On the cross, He died in the place of sinners, bearing God’s wrath, taking their punishment of death, and giving His perfect life of righteousness as a gift to many. He is the only mediator between man and God.

Salvation – All those who turn away from their sin and turn to God, trusting in Him, will be given the free gift of eternal life. The Holy Spirit causes sinners to be born again—literally made into a new people, changed on the inside. Upon trusting in Jesus, a sinner is declared to be righteous by God, the judge of all the earth, and will never come into judgement. Today is the Day of Salvation where this gospel must go forth.

The Day of the Lord – There is a future Day, determined by God, when Jesus will come back to judge all those who have not trusted in Him and to gather to Himself all those who have trusted in Him. The dead will be resurrected and brought to judgement. Those who have not trusted in Jesus will suffer eternal punishment away from God while those who have trusted in Jesus will enjoy eternal life with God.
